Re-Coating of West Parking Top Deck
We will going out to bid this coming year for applying a new waterproof coating to the uncovered parking deck for our West garage.Below is a brief summary of some of the larger projects currently ongoing or anticipated in the near future at the Mauna Luan. Replanting of Eucalyptus Trees
Due to some severe die-back on our eucalyptus trees it was necessary for us to perform major cutting on these trees in late 2010. It was also necessary to remove a few trees because of their condition. To enable us to have these beautiful trees in the future, the Board has approved a replanting program that will have new, young trees growing is as we remove the older trees. This should allow us to continue to have these trees as part of our overall landscaping. The newest set of trees were planted in May of 2015.
Retrofitting of All Building Lights with LED
All lights in both of the buildings, garage, driveway and recreation area have now been retrofitted to LED lights. Since 2012 we have seen a reduction of approximately 22% in our electrical usage due to these retrofits and other equipment changes.

Resurfacing of Car Wash Area
This project was completed in January of 2021.
Fall 2023
Resurfacing West 5th Level Parking -
We hope to be ready to go out to bid for this project toward the middle of 2024.
